Adopt a Dog.
Change Both Your Lives.
Every adoption is a beginning—for a dog who needed a second chance, and for you. Because when the right dog finds the right person, it changes everything.
At The Rescued Pup, we believe in thoughtful matches that lead to forever homes, not quick fixes. Our adoption process is personal, intentional, and rooted in love.
What to Expect When You Adopt from Us:
Adopting a dog is a big moment—for you and for them. Our process is designed to support lasting matches, not rushed decisions. Here’s how it works:
-
Tell Us About Your Timeline
Start by sharing when you’re hoping to adopt. Whether you’re ready now or just starting to explore, we welcome your interest. -
We’ll Follow Up with the Full Application
We’ll send you our complete adoption form where you can tell us more about your home, lifestyle, and the type of dog you’re looking for—or even select a specific dog you’re interested in. -
Let’s Meet Some Dogs
If we have a good fit, we’ll invite you to meet the dog—either at our rescue or through a scheduled visit. We’ll talk through their personality, needs, and any questions you have. -
Complete a Virtual Home Visit
To ensure it’s the right match for everyone, we’ll schedule a brief virtual home visit. It’s casual and friendly—we just want to set you (and your future pup) up for success. -
Sign the Adoption Contract & Make It Official
Once you’re ready to adopt, we’ll walk you through the adoption contract, collect the adoption fee, and celebrate the start of your new journey together.
From Our Homes to Yours
Unlike a shelter or facility, our dogs live in homes—with us or one of our dedicated fosters. That means we truly get to know their personalities, quirks, and needs. Whether they love car rides, prefer a quiet routine, or need help building confidence. So when it comes time to match them with adopters, we’re not guessing—we’re guiding.
