At The Rescued Pup, we believe every dog deserves a chance—no matter their history, behavior, or breed.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog rescue based in Southern California, committed to saving at-risk dogs from overcrowded and high-intake shelters. Many of the dogs we take in are overlooked or out of time, often due to behavioral challenges.
We specialize in helping these pups heal, learn, and find their forever homes.
We also work proactively to keep dogs in homes whenever possible—by offering education, nutrition counseling, and support for pet parents who want to do right by their dogs but may not know where to start.
We don’t rush the process. We give each dog the time, space, and support they need to decompress, feel safe, and rebuild trust.
Our team uses Fear Free, force-free, and positive reinforcement training to help dogs become confident and adoptable. With deep experience in canine behavior and rehabilitation, we meet each dog where they are and guide them toward who they’re meant to be.
We’ve spent over a decade rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs throughout Southern California. With hundreds of successful adoptions and countless transformations, our work is proof that compassion, patience, and positive training truly change lives.
Our mission is about more than rescue—it's about restoring hope and dignity to dogs society has forgotten.
But we don’t stop at saving lives—we also work to keep dogs in homes by providing education, training, and community support. We believe that by helping people understand dogs better, we can prevent surrender and break the cycle of abandonment.
We offer judgment-free support for pet parents navigating behavioral issues, life transitions, or tough decisions. Whether it’s through training advice, nutrition counseling, or simply listening, we’re here to help people keep the dogs they love.
Because keeping a dog in a home where they’re already loved is just as important as finding them a new one.
